I really wanted to blog about my recent trip to Las Vegas. I go to Las Vegas every year to meet my friends who are professional poker players and spend a long time in Vegas every summer for the World Series of Poker. The flight from Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas was delayed, overbooked and an experience I want to forget. It was worth it in the end though. I love Las Vegas and nothing tells you more that you in the middle of the desert when you leave the air conditioned airport to get a taxi and it is hot. We are talking 40 degrees Celsius after midnight. Once we got to the hotel I quickly unpacked all suitcases and went to sleep.
After a long night sleep we went shopping the next day and had lunch at Sushi Roku, a Japanese restaurant in the infamous Caesars Forum Shops Centre. The food was absolut delicious.
I am not the best photographer and unfortunately does this picture not show you how lovely the view actually it. You have a great view of the Strip and you can even see the Eiffel Tower in the background. Of course not the real one. We were very early for lunch, well it was around noon but then everything is a bit later in Vegas. It was Sunday after all and we assumed many people were very hangover from a night of partying. We were a bit disappointed that the service was so slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty and a few waiters on duty. After all we were hungry and ready to eat. Below a few pictures of our dishes.
It wasn’t my first time in Vegas and it won’t be my last. So I didn’t have to do all the sightseeing and didn’t feel bad about spending one or two hours in our hotel room during the afternoon. It was very hot after all. The temperatures were between 45 and 48 degrees Celsius during the day. Time to rest and get ready for a night out.
