Tryp Hotel Dusseldorf Airport

My Easyjet flight from Dusseldorf to London Gatwick last night was first delayed and then cancelled. All the passengers had to stay overnight in Dusseldorf and the flight was rescheduled to the next morning. I will blog about the whole experience and Easyjet’s poorly customer service in the situation in another post.

Room 159 – a Standard Double Room.
Tryp is a hotel chain by Wyndham and has four stars. The hotel is actually a five kilometre away from the airport; a taxi ride costs approximately 18€. Parking is free at the hotel and the surrounding area was quite and seemed safe. The reception is welcoming and my ‘due to the circumstances’ limited interaction with the hotel staff was great. The gentleman at the reception surely did not expect a large group of people to arrive on a very short notice at 11pm. He dealt very professionally with the situation and always had a smile on his face.
The hotel rooms are spacious, elegantly designed with air conditioning, a TV and open-view glass showers. Wellness facilities include a sauna, a steam room and a fitness room but of course I did not even think about using any of these during my stay, so I can not comment about them. The hotel was very clean and upon arrival every guest gets a fortune cookie placed on the duvet cover. What a lovely touch. I finally fell asleep at 2am and had a good yet short night of sleep.
Open bathroom with a separate shower

While having breakfast from the buffet in the restaurant on the ground floor I had a lovely view of the outside spaces: A relaxing and inviting outdoor terrace where you can dine during the warmer months. The buffet offered a wide variety of bread, bread rolls, croissants, muesli, yogurts, fruit, juices and of course coffee and tea. Needless to say I doubt anybody will leave the breakfast buffet hungry.

I was here for a party and there was so much food and it was all done so well! I didn't even care that I'd just been to Tupelo less than 12 hours ago. I could not stop eating.
