Personal Tuesday

So I am back on antidepressants. Hurrah. No, but seriously: I am glad that better times hopefully come soon. It takes a good three weeks for them to kick in and usually my symptoms worsen during that time, however I am actually feeling fine at the moment. I am keeping myself busy, blogging, enjoying time with the children and making the most of it. Small things can be day changing. On Friday I just sat outside on a wooden box meant for parcels and the weekly Riverford delivery and drank diet coke while Max played with the neighbours’ children in the front garden. Not even an hour outside in the sunshine and I was feeling okay, maybe even a little bit happy.

I am also trying to live healthier again, transforming my carbohydrates and sugar loaded diet to Paleo again and drinking more water, working out and trying to actually have more time to myself. I have decided not to study this year, looking after two little ones from the morning until the evening while doing everything ‘that comes with it’ and trying to have some sort of ‘me time’ makes it impossible for me at the moment to continue my degree. 
Today I went to a truffle tasting at the Monty Bojangles Truffle Bar in Reigate. I will blog about it in the next days. I have always been a huge fan of the brand, its head office is just streets away from us and I was very excited when I found about the truffle bar opening in Reigate. You can guess how thrilled I was when I was chosen to taste their new truffle flavours. On Thursday the boys and I will attend the launch of the new Braun thermometer range at the St. Martins Lane Hotel. The famous media doctor Dr. Ranj will be there for a meet and greet, but I have to be honest: Until I received my invitation I never heard of him. On Saturday I am invited to an editorial review dinner at the Stein’s in Kingston. It is a Bavarian restaurant with two branches, one in Richmond and the newer one in Kingston. My friend Moni will come with me and I am looking forward to tell you more about the restaurant.

I am looking forward to my busy week.

    I know exactly what you mean about small things being day-changing. I have such a hard time making time for just going and being outside, and it makes a huge difference when I'm not feeling great.

    So many events this week! I hope you enjoy them. I always think so many times before I RSVP to anything, and haven't in a while, even though I would quite like some free cupcakes – worth a couple of bus fares for sure. But I've got such a massive photo backlog and I'm still so broke that I have trouble justifying the expense even then. Plus you know I'm not great at people. But jealous of the truffle tasting! Yum.

    I hope the new meds kick in sooner rather than later.

    Small steps will lead to a greater change. I always feel better when I'm eating paleo (though I do like beans and chickpeas). You have so many awesome blogging ops, I'm so jealous!

    Thank you Lix. You shouldn't worry too much. I didn't want to go to an event last Thursday as I didn't feel well, but in the end I am so glad I did. I met so many lovely people.

    Same here. Last week I was really busy and many events didn't contribute to my weight loss, I am 2 lbs up but I don't care too much. It was all worth it.
