Personal Tuesday

George started preschool today. He did so well, but was exhausted when we picked him up at 3pm. The poor little boy was too tired to eat supper and did not even ask for ‘mon‘ (his word for milk) once. With George being at preschool I have a lot of quality time with Maxi now and there are so many things I would like to do with him. He is different to George in a lot of ways and I think he would probably like things that couldn’t excite George. Over the next days I will do some research on what’s going on in our area and try to make a weekly routine for both of us while we are alone.

My friend’s departure day is coming closer every day and even though she won’t leave until the 14th of September, I won’t see her anymore after Saturday as I am first off to Germany and then to Istanbul. After taking Maxi to the GP today we went to a local Pottery cafe and it was so much fun, even tough it is not easy trying to paint a mug with an eleven month old on your lap. I really wanted to give Emma Bridgewater a run for her money, but things didn’t work out the way I wanted. For lunch we went to Pizza Express, I am not the hugest fan of the restaurant chain for several reasons and those were today confirmed again. The food was great, I ordered the Leggera Salmon Salad for £12.60 and the portion was huge. My friend ordered a salad as well, she is a strict vegetarian and just at the end of her meal she discovered salmon in her salad. Of course by that time, it was already in her mouth and accidentally swallowed. There are two options: Either the waitress did not carry the plates properly and a piece of my salmon fell onto my friend’s plate or it happened in the kitchen. Either way, my friend got very distressed about it and in my opinion, it cannot happen at a restaurant. I am not a vegetarian and can’t fully understand it, but imagine I had a salad with nuts and my friend was allergic to eating nuts. Both waiters did not understand the seriousness of it and offered us a beverage of choice. That was kind, but for my friend it wasn’t an appropriate apology.
I am off to Germany at the weekend followed by a week to Istanbul, but now I am off to bed. I am incredibly tired. Tomorrow I will blog about my new smoothie blender, a great purchase. Good night!

I love this kind of post- you should do more! I took 2 of the children I look after to preschool for their first day today and I was nearly in tears! I can't believe how fast they have grown and they were exhausted too by the end of the day.. I couldn't stop worrying throughout the day but hopefully it will be easier for all of us tomorrow! xx http://www.allthingsbeautifulblog.co/

Hi Beth, I want to do one every Tuesday now. I am still getting into the hang of blogging more frequently and this is such a great way, isn't it? x
