Getting better skin in 2015

I didn’t make a list with New Year’s resolutions. I used to make them every year and so far I didn’t stick to many of the things I wrote down on the list. However, I really want 2015 to be the year of getting healthier on the inside and outside.

My skin is terrible at the moment and while I never battled with acne during puberty, my skin regularly breaks out. I have tried many products in the past and I think it’s time to let a professional help me with my spots.

There are many skin clinics in the UK and when you search for one on the internet, you get easily overwhelmed with all results on the internet. I really want to best for my skin and only one of the leading clinics in the country would be my choice. Sk:n is exactly that. Their staff is highly medically trained ahead of many other clinics providing skin care in the UK.

Sk:n was founded in 1990 in Harrogate in a private clinic. Their initial specialism was in port wine stain removal and the company invested in the highest grade lasers on the market. Today, after a quarter of a century, no one offers more specialised skin treatments than Sk:n. The company offers a wide range of services from acne treatments, tattoo removals and even facial resurfacing.

It doesn’t matter if you live in Aberdeen or in Portsmouth, the company as a broad network of clinics with opening hours up to 9pm and are home to more leading consultant dermatologists, doctors, plastic surgeons, nurses or therapists than any other dermatology service provider.

For me it is always very important, how long a company has been in business, especially when it involves my health and flawless skin is a sign of good health. Sk:n clinics have been in business for such a long time and its high customer loyalty and satisfaction scores speak for themselves.

I have horrible acne spots, sometimes less and sometimes more, but especially around the chin area I can do what I want and it doesn’t make a change. The Sk:inclinic’s website does not only provide information about the different treatments, but also about the conditions themselves. I learned that spots associated with acne can affect 80 per cent of people aged between 11 and 30. That is more than I thought and shows even more how important it is to spread the word. I would classify my acne spots as mild to moderate at times, but if you are unsure a specialist can diagnose the type and severity of your acne.

So what is the best treatment for acne spots? Of course, this would depend on the type of acne you have and it’s great that the clinic offers a free sk:n acne consultation. An expert practitioner will be able to diagnose the condition where the colour of your skin, the texture, lesions and secretions are checked. Only then a treatment will be recommended. I think this gives great reassurance. Recommended for acne treatments are medical grade peels, the peels help by exfoliating the top layers of skin and preventing pores from becoming clogged. The peels vary in strength and include Salicylic, Jessner, Pyruvic and Glycolic options. If you suffer from acne spots like me, have a look on the treatments offered here.
